100 Bible Journaling Prompts for Overcoming Fear and Anxiety

There are seasons when fear and anxiety seem to take up more space in our hearts than we’d like. I’ve been there — those nights when my mind won’t stop replaying worries, or those mornings when I wake up already feeling heavy before the day begins.

In those moments, my journal and Bible have become sacred places. They help me quiet the noise, refocus on truth, and remember Who holds me. Bible journaling is more than writing pretty verses or doodling margins — it’s a conversation with God, a space to bring my worries, doubts, and hopes to Him on paper.

How I Use These Prompts

When I journal through prompts like these, I don’t worry about neat handwriting or perfect wording. Sometimes it’s a messy page of prayers and tears. Other times, it’s a list of Scriptures that helped me breathe easier that day.

Here’s what helps me most:

  • Set the scene. Light a candle, play soft worship music, and make the space feel peaceful.
  • Pray before you write. Ask God to meet you on the page and bring clarity to your heart.
  • Write honestly. God can handle your questions and fears — He already knows them.
  • Return to favorite verses. Write them again and again until they sink in.
  • End with gratitude. Even on hard days, naming small blessings shifts everything.

Bible journaling isn’t about producing something beautiful — it’s about finding beauty in God’s presence and letting His truth quiet your anxious heart.

Closing Thoughts

If fear and anxiety have been trying to take over your thoughts lately, let this be your gentle reminder: you are not alone, and you are not powerless. The same God who calmed storms can calm the waves inside your heart.

Writing these prompts has helped me more times than I can count. Each one has turned my attention back to what’s real — God’s faithfulness, His peace, and His steady love.

So take a deep breath. Grab your Bible and journal. Light a candle. And begin, one page at a time, to trade your fear for faith and your worry for worship.

You are safe, loved, and held — always.
